Everyone seems to be lying

Loki Episode 4 Recap and Review - It was Full of Lies and Deception

Loki episode 4 was released yesterday, and it was full of lies and deception. Warning! Spoilers beyond this point! This episode revealed that Loki is actually in love with his female variant (who wants to be known as Sylvie). However, it is not likely that she reciprocates the feelings as she remained very guarded in episode 3.

However, Loki’s newfound feelings caused a seismic shift in the timeline and allowed to time cops to locate and rescue them. Both of them are interrogated by time cops and both, eventually manage to convince the ones interrogating them to switch sides.

In Loki episode 4, we also look at Sylvie’s tragic backstory of how the TVA marked her as a kid and how she has been on the run since then. It is also clear that she wants to finish off the timekeepers after knowing why she was marked as a kid.

Loki episode 4 also revealed some vulnerabilities of Loki, like he is falling in love, mourning the supposed death of Sylvie and Mobius, and facing the worst aspect of his personality when he is punished to be inside a time loop with Lady Sif.

Soon after, we witness what we have been waiting for, The Timekeepers. As both Loki’s are presented before them, they manage to kill the guards (with some help) and kill off one of the timekeepers. Here comes the biggest revelation of Loki episode 4, the timekeepers are neither humans nor gods, they are just machines.

Later, Loki episode 4 becomes more interesting when Loki declares his love for Sylvie and then is evaporated a few seconds later. Thankfully Judge Renslayer is still alive, and she might reveal the truth to Sylvie.

Loki episode 4 mid-credits scene

As you might have guessed, there is a mid-credits after Loki episode 4.  Loki wakes up in ruins of New York and is surrounded by several Loki variants, which includes a kid Loki, a reptile Loki, a boastful Loki, and a classic Loki. We don’t know exactly what the part the new Lokis will play in the final two episodes, but if the pattern from the previous Disney+ Marvel series, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier continues here, a mid-credits marks the point where the shows start to get real about what’s going on. Well, whatever that is, we’re quite sure that it is going to be a mischievous good time.

In other entertainment news, The Many Saints of Newark trailer is out now.
