There is some fantastic news for such people as two of the fashion giants have partnered up to create some remarkable pieces. Louis Vuitton has partnered with Nigo to create some incredible pieces.

The partnership is between Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director Vigil Abloh and the iconic Japanese designer Nigo. They have come together for the pre-fall 2020 collection that will help make wearing streetwear trendier. The partnership was announced in December last year and has had people drooling to see the results of their hard work.

For those who are unaware, Louis Vuitton’s Abloh has been inching towards the top spot in the industry quickly while Nigo is the founder of one of the most loved streetwear brands today, Bathing Ape. The duo has known each other for more than 15 years, and this project is based on their friendship.

Nigo has dubbed the results as LV2 as there is a dual approach to design mostly includes classic streetwear silhouettes and yet they smartly integrate Louis Vuitton easy to recognize elements. The core aim of Louis Vuitton while launching this collection is to retain young customers who have invested in the brand thanks to hypebeast accessories by Abloh. For that, the brand is strengthening the tailoring category more than usual. The line-up has many suits that have Vuitton’s memorable square Damier pattern that is blown up for graphic effect.

Abloh talked about the collection to Vogue and said “The mood of the collection started off with our appreciation for the UK dandy and the Mod era, Savile Row tailoring. That gave us the silhouette; but when it came to adding our own texture within the silhouette, that was very much using the codes of the house.”

In the same interview, he also spoke about his controversial statement about streetwear’s death. “Last fall I did an interview where a quote was taken out of context; my sentiment was that streetwear will die,” he stated.

I didn’t say it to be polarizing. … If you speak to anyone that’s been in streetwear for the last 15 years, it’s always had this sort of nine lives, dying and coming back, and dying and coming back. There’s so many first generation streetwear brands, stores, and retailers. The market wasn’t as vibrant as it is now, so they went out of business and people don’t remember those. … Partially what I meant [by] “it will die” is that new things like tailoring from guys like Nigo and me will be born from the regeneration of it.

As Japan is known for its superior denim, the Louis Vuitton and Nigo partnership also includes many pieces made of denim. The collection also has impressive accessories. The LV2 patchwork is applied to denim wares are also added to the most famous Louis Vuitton bags like tote bags and keep all. Shearling boots and tasselled loafers also get a similar treatment.
