People don’t just want to buy Apple gadgets; they are crazy for everything associated with the brand. It was proven when Apple sneakers that were designed for the employees of the company years back were sold for USD 9,687 or AUD 16,375. Read on to know what’s so special about these Apple sneakers.

The news that smart Apple sneakers will soon enter the market to give competition to other luxury brands like Louis Vuitton pops up every few years, but till now, the company has not done the same. People with thousands of dollars to spare are hoping that the news will be true some day and they will be the first ones to get a smart sneaker.

It seems the wish of such fans was “granted” before because Apple did try its hands-on sportswear in the early 1990s. The company created Apple sneakers for its employees that would be liked by people who like iconic footwear like the Air Max.

Recently, the sale of a pair of these Apple sneakers was organized by Heritage Auctions. The sneakers were nine and a half size. They had the Apple rainbow logo embroidered on the side. These Apple sneakers were created exclusively for Apple employees in the early 90s. The pair being sold was worn and had some minor wear and tear. But still, they were in excellent condition. There were 20 bids for the coveted shoes, and they were eventually sold at USD 9,687 or AUD 16,375.

It is not the first-time these rare sneakers created for corporate uniform and promotion have gone up for auction. In 2017, a pair of sneakers hit the market and had a starting price of USD 15,000 or AUD 25, 357. The reason for the high price is that these were one of the two prototype pairs created by Adidas and were never worn. It was hoped that these could be sold for as high a price as USD 36,000 or AUD 60,856. But unlike Apple sneakers, they were not sold and are still listed up for sale.

If you wanted to buy these Apple sneakers and missed the opportunity, you should consider looking for Apple t-shirts hoodies, tote bag, onesies and other sneakers that might be up for sale somewhere else.
