SOMEONE LEAKED THE APPLE GLASSES AND IT'S BRILLIANT IF IT MATERIALISES

Apple fans know that the company has been working on a pair of smart glasses for years now. On Tuesday, the host of Front Page Tech, Jon Prosser reported that he had seen those smart glasses and they are to be called Apple Glass. Here’s the highlight of what he shared and how Apple Glass could be an improvement over Google Glass.

Apple Glass will be paired up with a users’ iPhone. They will be controlled via gestures in front of the glasses as well as on them. Prosser shared that both the lenses will have displays, and there will be a lidar sensor in the frames. Likely, Apple Glass won’t feature a camera as the company wants it to look more like a typical pair of glasses.

The prototype seen by Prosser had a plastic set of frames, but, probably, Apple Glass will actually have a metal frame. Apple Glass will also support wireless charging and will likely come with a charging stand. The cost of Apple Glass will be around USD 499 (about AUD 762), and users will need to shell out extra bucks for prescription lenses.

Prosser claims that the company wanted to announce Apple Glass during the next iPhone launch, but the plans have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the announcement will likely come in March 2021.

Apple wants media presence while unveiling Apple Glass as it’s a hands-on product, the company will wait until it’s safe for thousands of people to gather under one roof before the process of the big reveal begins. Even if they are unveiled on schedule (early 2021), the new frames won’t likely hit the shelves till late 2021 or early 2022.

From Prosser’s data, it can be assumed that Apple Glass will be way better than Google Glass that was an embarrassing failure according to some people. The former will look like real glasses, won’t have a camera and will allow users to witness the actual augmented reality technology. Even the post-release support is expected to be better than the latter.
