Tesla Bot – Elon Musk Announces Plans to Make A Humanoid Robot

A prototype of the humanoid may be ready by next year.

Based on a new announcement by Tesla, the company is all set to develop a new humanoid robot called the Tesla Bot. The robot will be capable of doing all the everyday chores such as grabbing groceries and other household tasks. And the company is quite serious about it.

Tesla just recently unveiled some of its future in the domain of Artificial Intelligence. So, it is not just self-driving cars that tesla is into. Instead, Tesla is also exploring the world of robotics. The upcoming Tesla Bot is a prime example of that.

The company’s interests in robotics are also reflected by the fact that Elon Musk describes Tesla as the largest robotics company in the world. According to him, Tesla can use its computer vision advancements in not only four wheels, but also in humanoid robots.

Furthermore, Elon Musk also stated that the Tesla Bot will be designed to do every day “repetitive and boring tasks.”

The Tesla Bot will feature some of the commonly found technologies in Tesla vehicles. For instance, it will contain an FSD computer that will receive data from various sensors. Based on some reports, Tesla is working with Dennis Hong, who is a famed roboticist specializing in humanoids.

Yet, Elon Musk has not touched further details about what the humanoid bot will be capable of doing. However, the CEO did state that the goal is for the Tesla Bot to do the most boring, repetitive, and dangerous tasks.

The prototype of the humanoid robot might be around next year. According to Musk, the company has decided to build the robot because it has all the necessary technology. He stated that if “Tesla doesn’t do it, someone else will.” Though, Elon Musk prefers it to be done safely.

Eventually, if it works, the Tesla Bot could bring a revolution in the world of robotics. In the longer term, the humanoid bots might fully replace human labor, especially in dangerous situations such as construction and building.
