It’s now official, Cardi B is now a cast in the Fast and Furious 9 directed by Justin Lin, who directed “Fast & Furious 6,” returns to the tenth installment with franchise mainstay Diesel starring as Dominic Toretto. The screenplay was written by Dan Casey based on the story by Lin and Alfredo Botelo. The film is under Universal Pictures to hit the big screens on May 22, 2020.

 

The news was broken by Fast star Vin Diesel on his Instagram video of October 22 with the rapper on the set of Fast 9 in the United Kingdom.

 

Cast members returning to Fast and Furious include Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Chris Bridges (AKA Ludacris), Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron. Also, newcomer John Cena is included in the line-up.

The film will not include Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, who starred in the spinoff “Hobbs and Shaw” as the ninth title in the Fast universe,

 

It’s Cardi B’s first movie part since her role as the stripper Diamond in STX’s drama “Hustlers” alongside stars Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu.

Acknowledged as one of the most well-known rappers, Cardi B made noise with her bomb single “Bodak Yellow” in 2017. The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Charts later that year, rendering her the first female rapper to earn the honor in nearly 20 years and also knocked Taylor Swift out of the top spot

After that, she quickly became a household name, delighting fans with her unabashed personality, her bold and sexy style, and her authentic candor.

 

In 2019, Cardi B historically broke a glass ceiling on her own terms when she was awarded Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards — the first woman ever to win the honor.
