The New Balenciaga Paris Sneaker Looks Like it Came from the Bin

The Balenciaga Paris Sneaker has arrived, and it is distressed, to say the least.

The new silhouette by Balenciaga, the Paris sneaker, looks like it has been dug out of the ground. It comes both in white and black colorways. The shoe is intentionally made to look like it is distressed. The upper part of the textile comes with holes, and some rugged texture is added to the shoe. With that, the rubber sole also contains some wear and scuff marks.

However, this is not the vibe that everyone would be looking for. The Balenciaga team is an expert at marketing its designs. So, it does not really matter if the design is a little odd. The brand knows all the clever ways to market its products.

To market the Paris sneaker, the luxury label has started a new campaign that features the silhouette with extreme wear, marks, and dirt. Balenciaga says that this sneaker is primarily “meant to be worn for a lifetime.”

Of course, giving sneakers a rugged look like this one takes a lot of time. However, not everybody who has a taste for such sneakers has a high level of patience. Not to mention, all sneakers do not stand the test of time anyway.

Balenciaga has also started a limited addition sale featuring 100 extremely worn-out sneakers. While it may sound odd, items like the Paris sneaker help the luxury label further grow its presence. After all, the brand is always creating items that spark discussion and dialogue.

But how far will Balenciaga really push it? Will a lot of people really pay hundreds of dollars for items such as the Paris sneaker? Well, Balenciaga loyalists may be more than willing to do so.
