The spin-off of How I Met Your Mother, How I Met Your Father is planned by Hulu. It will star Hilary Duff and will be a ten-episode series. In the series, Duff will play the role of Sophie. She will be one of several friends who are looking for love in times of dating apps. She will also be an Executive Producer of the series.
How I Met Your Father is a spin-off of the popular CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, that ran for nine seasons and was one of the most-watched comedy series of the last few decades. It had stars like Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Josh Radnor, and Alyson Hannigan. The series told a story of five friends living in New York City who are looking for love. The sad part of the series was that it did not have a satisfactory ending.
Since the show ended, fans have been demanding a new season, and How I Met Your Father is the spin-off that might finally fulfil the fans’ demands. Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, the original creators of How I Met Your Mother, will serve as Executive Producers for the spin-off. It is not clear how the spin-off will be connected to the original series.
How I Met Your Mother was extremely popular when it aired, but the show has not aged well. The predatory behaviour of Barney towards women was considered problematic. It is hoped that How I Met Your Father will avoid such mistakes.

Talking about How I Met Your Father, Duff said, “As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother, I’m honoured and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby.” She added, “Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can’t wait to work alongside them and all of their genius. Just fangirling over here getting to join the Hulu Originals and 20th families. I realize these are big shoes to fill, and I’m excited to slip my 6.5’s in there!” Let’s see how the audience likes How I Met Your Father.
