Lost in Space Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Netflix is keeping the fans hooked by launching amazing TV shows that have an element of mystery and some cool fiction. The next step in this effort is the launch of Lost in Space Season 2 that will air on Christmas Eve. In the show, the Robinson family will be facing more danger than ever before.
For the uninitiated, Lost in Space series consists of the Robinson family that’s full of some genius family members. It is headed by father John Robinson, who is a former Navy SEAL and mother Maureen, who is a mission commander and an aerospace engineer. Their kids, Penny, Will, and Judy are skilled in science and math.
In the show, the family has a mission to join a colony in the Alpha Centauri system, but their plans fail when their ship, the Resolute is attacked, and they get Lost in Space. They end up at a new planet with the help of a Robot, a synthetic alien creature who comes out of nowhere. Though the show isn’t as exciting as Stranger Things, it has some cool moments that make it watch-worthy.
Lost in Space Season 1 ended with the family aboard a new ship Jupiter 2, that’s stranded on an ocean planet. They are accompanied by Robot and a not so trustworthy Dr. Smith. In season 2, Will Robinson will search for Robot, who has gone missing. In the trailer the question of “Have You Seen Our Robot?” was asked and it included a version of the popular song, “What a Wonderful World.”
Will can be seen saying, “I know he’s out there somewhere.” The trailer also includes glimpses of Don West, Dr. Smith, and an unnamed character played by JJ Field.
The official synopsis for Lost in Space Season 2 says, “There’s more danger — and adventure — ahead for the Robinson family. With Jupiter 2 stranded on a mysterious ocean planet without their beloved Robot, the Robinsons must work together, alongside the mischievous and manipulative Dr. Smith and the always charming Don West, to make it back to the Resolute and reunite with the other colonists. But they quickly find all is not as it seems. A series of incredible new threats and unexpected discoveries emerge as they look for the key to finding Robot and safe passage to Alpha Centauri.”

The show is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless while Zack Estrin is the showrunner. It is produced by Legendary Television and distributed by Netflix. It was filmed between September 2018 to January 2019. It stars renowned actors like Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Taylor Russell, Mina Sundwall, Maxwell Jenkins, Parker Posey, Brian Steele, Ignacio Serricchio, Amelia Burstyn, and Douglas Hodge.
Lost in Space series is inspired by Lost in Space that aired on CBS between 1965 to 1968. The first season of the series was released on Netflix on April 2018.
