Two hundred pairs of Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh will be auctioned by Sotheby. 200 pairs will be released, and the proceeds will be donated to The Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund.

Virgil Abloh passed away at the age of 41 last November due to cancer, and his fans still can’t swallow the harsh truth. The Sotheby’s auction will allow his fans to make one of the products he designed their own. All the products that will be auctioned were manufactured in Fiesso d’Artico, Italy. The uppers of the shoes will feature Louis Vuitton’s signature patterns. All the products are also made by using quality fabrics. They range from sizes 5 to 18, so there’s a pair for almost everyone.

The calf leather tongues, overlays, and quarter panels are draped with classic dark brown Monogram graphics. Similarly, the Swooshes and heel overlays have white and grey Damier patterns. Abloh’s staple Helvetica branding is present on the laces. They have the French word “LACET” added to them. It translates to “lace” in English. On the medial side, the regal “Louis Vuitton for Nike” is present. There are also “AIR” notations on the midsoles.

Even tongue branding is done right as the lateral side reads “Louis Vuitton Air.” The interior lines have beige skin that aligns well with the base layer’s cowhide piping.

Each pair of LV and Nike Air Force 1 will come in an exclusive Taurillon leather pilot case which is submerged in a bold orange hue and is debossed with all-over Monogram patterns. It is also furnished with Louis Vuitton branded and Swoosh-shaped luggage tags.

The bidding for the auction will start on January 26 and close on February 8. The pricing will begin at US$ 2,000. LV will showcase the 47 “Nike Air Force 1” instalments Virgil Abloh created in a pop-up exhibition. It will also conduct a commercial drop of more colorways. Both are planned for at a later date.
