SUPERMAN IS BACK! HENRY CAVILL MIGHT PLAY SUPERMAN IN A NEW DCEU MOVIE

There has been much speculation about Henry Cavill ‘s future

The fans of the DCEU have been waiting for Henry Cavill to reprise his role of Superman for a few years now. There is an update on this matter as Deadline reports that the actor is in talks with the studio to return as Superman.

 

Though Henry Cavill will likely play the role of Superman again, he might not get a solo Superman film or act in a Man of Steel sequel. It has also been clarified that Superman might not return as a part of Wonder Woman 1984 or The Suicide Squad as these films are already locked. Superman might not appear in The Batman as well.

 

So, the two options left in which Henry Cavill’s Superman might make an entry are Black Adam and Aquaman 2. The production of these films will resume after the post-COVID-19 policies of the film industry are sorted. The return of Superman via Shazam! is also unlikely as WB and DC wanted Henry Cavill to cameo in Shazam! earlier, but the deal didn’t work out.

 

Though WB made no comment regarding Henry Cavill’s return as Superman, the report from Deadline included this coy bit- “We hear Cavill could come back in a couple of different ways, not a standalone film, but there are plans to put him back in the big red cape again sources with knowledge tell us.”

 

It’s been three years since fans saw Henry Cavill’s Superman in the Justice League. The actor has hinted via many social media posts that he wants to put on the Red Cape again and has always gotten positive responses from the fans.

Though Justice League didn’t meet fans’ expectations, it wasn’t due to Henry Cavill’s performance as he did a fantastic job. So, WB won’t make a mistake if it trusts The Witcher actor again.

The return of Henry Cavill as Superman is second big news for DCEU fans. Only a few days back, we reported how HBO Max is planning to release the Snyder Cut of Justice League in 2021.
