The King Trailer - An Immature Timothée Chalamet Becomes King
The King – Netflix

The King is one of the most anticipated historical dramas of the year that will be released in theatres and on Netflix. After the success of the previous The King trailer, a new The King trailer has been released, which shows the plight of an immature king who is forced to sit on the English throne after the death of his father. The trailer is quite intense and interesting.

Timothée Chalamet, Joel Edgerton, and Robert Pattinson are the key stars in this historical drama. In The King trailer, Chalamet says, “A new chapter of my life has begun. As prince I spent my days drinking, clowning. Now I find myself a king.” You can see the new king navigating the politics and dangers associated with his new role. He has to face his father’s (Henry IV, portrayed by Ben Mendelsohn) old enemies and is also facing a prospect of war. He admits the weight of the crown is too heavy at the end of The King trailer.

The King trailer is filled with rich cinematography and shows several intense sequences. Pattinson, with his long hair, is a French Ruler, Dauphin who taunts King Harry on the Battlefield, and says, “Surrender to me.” and “King of England, are you scared?” He also says that the screams of English soldiers shall lull him to sleep at night.

Along with the threat of war and politics, the young king deals with emotional strings of his past life which includes his complex relationship with his mentor and closest friend, John Falstaff, an aging alcoholic knight (portrayed by Joel Edgerton). The King is directed by David Michôd. Its co-written by David Michôd and Joel Edgerton. The cast includes Sean Harris and Lily-Rose Depp as well.

We think the latest The King trailer is quite impressive and does justice to Shakespeare plays on which it is based. It’s likely that it will be well-loved by the audience who has been craving for something unique since the ending of iconic shows like the Game of Thrones. Won’t you agree?
