Fans who have been eagerly waiting for Star Wars Episode 9, The Rise of Skywalker have got a reason to be delighted. Porsche has partnered with Lucasfilm to create a spaceship for the upcoming Star Wars film. Though the company is not revealing anything about this unique partnership, it is assured that the craft design would be revealed when during the movie premiere.

Talking about the Star Wars Spaceship, Michael Mauer, Vice President of Style Porsche, said “Developing a spacecraft with clear Porsche design DNA is exciting and challenging. Even though they do not seem to share many elements at first glance, both worlds have a similar design philosophy. The close collaboration with the Star Wars design team inspires and fascinates us – I’m sure that both sides can draw major benefits from this exchange.”

The announcement made by Porsche is indicating that the design of the Star Wars spaceship isn’t complete yet. There will be a meet of designers in Stuttgart and San Francisco to decide the shape of the spaceship in the coming weeks. As the movie hits the theatres in a few weeks, both Lucasfilm and Porsche have to hurry to meet the deadline.

The teaser sketches reveal that Porsche spaceship carries the trademark design cues of the brand like a curved rear or a sleek roof. The shape isn’t perfect for the Star Wars world, and there is a need for some big rocket engines that are a key part of the Star Wars Universe.

Porsche is expected to get into product placement game at the debut of the next film. At that time, the company will have the Porsche Taycan electric sedan on display.

Though the Porsche and Star Wars Partnership is unusual, it is not one of its kind. In 2016, Lexus created an egg-shaped craft that had a huge version of the spindle grille of the brand. It was for the film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The brand also created an otherworldly vehicle this year for Men in Black: International.

Keep checking this space for more details on the partnership between Star Wars and Porsche. We are sure that the details will be revealed once the movie hits the theatres. Meanwhile, you can comment below and share your thoughts on this unique partnership!
