Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillion timepieces were unveiled on Monday by the Swiss watchmaker. Six new editions were launched. Five of them were in 18-carat white gold cases, while the sixth was in 18-carat pink gold. Each of them comes with several stunning gemstones.

Each of the editions of Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillion watches measures 38.5 mm and runs on a hand-wound movement, AP’s calibre 2951. It offers a minimum power reserve of 77 hours.

The Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillion watches are water-resistant up to 20 meters and have glare-proof sapphire crystals and case backs. All the models of Audemars-Piguet watches have crowns set with translucent sapphire cabochon gemstones. The new Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillion timepieces are available with two strap options a blue rubber strap with a “constellation” decoration ad a “large square-scale” blue alligator strap.

The Audemars-Piguet watches are also very different from each other. They have different cases, bezels, buckles, and dials differently set with hundreds of smartly selected sapphires, diamonds and other coloured gems. The tourbillions of The Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillion watches also have 9 brilliant-cut sapphires or diamonds.

Each of the Audemars-Piguet watches jewels was individually cut and perfectly polished to form a specific shape. They were later set in gold by an expert jeweller to ensure that the watch’s unique pyramidal dial accents were enhanced and were able to catch the light.

Two of the new Royal Oak Concept Flying Torbillon watches are rainbow watches which showcase up to 12 types of coloured gemstones.

One model has a diamond-set case and dials with a bezel set with baguette-cut gems in rainbow colours.

Interestingly, the other colourful piece is entirely set with brilliant-cut multicoloured gemstones.

Two of the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon watches are covered with 208 baguette-cut blue sapphires that are selected and set to form a gradient effect. These sapphires were cut in 144 sizes to match the curves of the Royal Oak Concept case and the unique architecture of the dial.

The blue-hued Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillions are expected to be available in select Audemars Piguet retailers next year. The other four watches with brilliant-cut gemstones will be available in select locations for this October.
