Reunions Continue, but the Sex Scene Steals the Glory
The makers of Game of Thrones are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the 8th and final season gets all the limelight and the Game of Thrones Season 8 episode 1 was a proof of that. With unexpected reunions to Jon and Dany’s lovemaking to the creepy looks thrown by Bran, everything got the attention they expected. Now, the makers have upped the game by presenting episode 2 of Game of Thrones season 8 in which the stakes are high, and the sexual tension is even higher.
Yes, if watching the love scene between Jon and Dany wasn’t creepy enough for you as Jon seemed more focused on the dragon (for a bit), here’s some news for you. In the second episode of Game of Thrones Season 8, the most attention seeking and perhaps most gross part was the sex scene between Arya and Gendry. The scene was not only unexpected for the fans but was quite unexpected for Maisie Williams, who plays the role of in the Game of Thrones series.
Anyways, first things first. The Game of Thrones episode started with Jaime finally making his entry and meeting Daenerys, and it was a bit weird as the army promised by his sister never made an appearance. Jaime indicates that he is not loyal to Cersei but wants to survive. Brienne and then Sansa vouch for him.
Meanwhile, we can see Arya’s thirst for knowledge for many things (sex would be one of them). Jaime is still meeting people, and finally, he meets Bran who doesn’t seem to be fussed as he can see through time now. Then Jaime meets Tyrion, and they have a banter during which he notices Brienne below. She says they had never had such a long conversation without him insulting her (which is a clear indication that he needs to work hard to get to her).
Sansa and Dany also have a chat where the former says that the latter might not make sound decisions when dragons surround him while the latter assures her that Jon won’t get in the way of her thirst for the throne (which after all Game of Thrones is all about).
Ser Davos and Gilly are preparing for the war (that all Game of Thrones fans have been waiting for!) and in the war room, it is decided that Bran will be used as a bait for the dead as he has a tattoo that attracts them.
As the Night King is still taking his sweet time to make a grand entrance in Game of Thrones, people have time to kill. People at Winterfell are enjoying fireside stories which includes one from Tormund and one from Jaime. Something unexpected suddenly happens. Brienne stated that women could not be knights but Jaime objected and dubbed her as a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Arya has a chat with the Hound and remembers that she might die (which is a possibility as Game of Thrones makers are unpredictable), so she decides to have sex with whoever’s handy, yes, it’s Gendry. Mercifully, we don’t see her flash because that would have been creepy as we saw her grow from a kid through the seasons and don’t want her naked image in our heads.
Sam also meets with Jorah in this episode of Game of Thrones and provides him a Valyrian steel sword by the Tarly family that will be useful in the fight. Sam also spoils the suspense a bit for Game of Thrones fans like us by saying a parting line “I’ll see you when it’s through” which compels us to think that one of them will die soon.
As the makers of Game of Thrones always have a surprise planned for us, we see Jon Snow trying to avoid Daenerys during the entire episode, and at the end she corners him. Jon gives her a smile that says he is about to break up with her and the location couldn’t have been more interesting. They are standing in front of Lyanna Starks tomb!
Only if Game of Thrones script was that simple and Jon could have broken up with her easily. But no, they discuss whether Rhaegar Targaryen raped Lyanna or not. Then Jon reveals that his real name is Aegon Targaryen and Daenerys is shocked. She recovers quickly and adds that it’s strange that this secret was known by only his best friend and his brother. She also adds that if he is what he says, he would be the last male heir of the House Targaryen and would have a claim on the iron throne.
But before they can continue their version of Game of Thrones, we hear that the battle horn has sounded and the fun has begun!
After two long episodes filled with sex scenes, reunions and unsaid feelings, we the loyal fans of Game of Thrones want to see some real freaking action now. Won’t you agree?
