After many years of waiting, teasers, leaks, and rumours, the 2022 Nissan Z sports car was unveiled recently. It’s due in Australian showrooms next year. It’s codenamed Z35 and finally drops the engine-capacity-based naming scheme that the company had been using since 1969.

The Nissan Z sports car has a 298kW/475Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which comes with nine-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions. It powers the rear wheels to get circa-4.5-second 97km/h sprint. The car also has large performance breaks, a limited-slip differential, a sharper chassis, and 19-inch wheels.

Talking about interiors, the Nissan Z sports car comes with a 12.3-inch instrument and 9-inch infotainment displays. It also has a full suite of active driver assistance features. Under the skin, you can find double-wishbone front and multi-link independent rear suspension. It also has new monotube shock absorbers, a standard front strut tower brace, and optimised suspension geometry.

A few other highlights of the Nissan Z sports car chassis are electric power steering, two suspension tunes, two drive modes available on automatic models, and a variable sports exhaust.

The measurements of the Nissan Z sports car are also worthy of attention. It is 4379mm long, 1316mm high, and 1844mm wide. It has a 2550mm wheelbase. Unfortunately, the details on boot space are not revealed by the brand yet.

The styling of the Nissan Z sports car is identical to the Z Proto concept that was previewed about a year back. However, a huge chunk of the design inspiration of the car is taken from the S30 240Z that was launched in 1969.

The Nissan Z sports car will be available in red, blue, and black colour environments. Other key features include parking sensors in the front and rear, tyre pressure monitoring, and six airbags.
