The Future of the Star Wars Franchise has Now Been Confirmed

It would be an understatement to say that Star Wars has been spoiled for the fans a few times in the past. We have seen Rogue One, The Last Jedi, Solo, and The Force Awakens already.

Now, we will see ‘Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker’ in the coming month. Whether you enjoyed ‘The Last Jedi’ or you didn’t, it is tough to not to be excited about the upcoming film. All in all, the first Star Wars films have taken almost 30 years.

After ‘The Rise of Skywalker’, the franchise may go on a break. According to Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, the Franchise will go “into a hiatus for a few years”.

Previously, we had DB Weiss and David Benioff working on the upcoming Star Wars trilogy. Both Weiss and Benioff were also the showrunners of the Game of Thrones. However, just recently, it was announced that both of them have stepped away from the Star Wars trilogy. Just a week after that, Iger announced that the franchise will go on a break now.

At the same time, the director of The Last Jedi admitted that he is not certain when or whether the new trilogy will even enter the production phase. At the same time, the Star Wars film by Kevin Feige may not also be ready for a while now. However, this certainly does not mean that you cannot enjoy anything related to the Star Wars franchise.

The Mandalorian, which is a spin-off series of the Star Wars will soon be released on Disney+ (a streaming service by Disney). For now, the first five episodes will be available for fans to watch. At the same time, the platform will soon launch in the UK. Hence, a bigger number of fans will have access to the spin-off show.

In the meantime, fans should enjoy ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ as much as they should. This is because according to the current situation, it may take a little while for another Star Wars film to show up. So until then, it makes sense for fans to get the most out of what they already have!
