Midsommar Movie Leaves Movie Goers Totally Terrified
It’s another thriller masterpiece by Ari Aster
A new horror movie, Midsommar is downright terrifying and has left fans scared to the bone. According to fans, the movie offers an ultimate kick of adrenaline that most horror movies have previously failed to provide. In fact, some fans claim to have difficulties sleeping after watching the movie. Directed by Ari Aster, the film is indeed a masterpiece. Most people will remember Ari Aster from the highly acclaimed thriller film Hereditary which hit the cinemas last year.
Another movie, Pet Sematary was in theaters earlier this year. Being a Stephen King adapted thriller, the film has received a good response. Nevertheless, in terms of the scare factor, it looks like Midsommar tops it all!
Another Stephen King adaptation Dr. Sleep is currently in production and will be released on 30th October 2019 worldwide. Indeed, year 2019 seems is quite vibrant in terms of horror releases!
Midsommar is based on a couple that travels to Sweden along with two friends for a midsummer festival. Soon, the group finds itself in the midst of bizarre violence resulting from a pagan cult.
Most of the horror in Midsommar occurs in daylight. In this way, the film sort of breaks the trend of relating darkness with horror. Considering the fact that the film has still terrified audience through its daylight horror sequences, we’re all curious to see what it has to offer.
Even Poulter, who starred in the film was scared to the bone when he watched the movie. He said in an interview with British Radio, “It is rare to see something you are in and be genuinely so affected by it when you can presumably see the scenes and the working out as it were. This one terrified me to my core despite the fact I knew it was a film I was in.”
After watching the film, one fan wrote on Twitter: “I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight OR go outside again.”
Another fan wrote: “Midsommar is the first film I’ve ever seen that’s made me feel like I was about to pass out while watching!”
