As fiction fans are awaiting the release of their favourite films like Spider-Man: Far from Home, they also keep up with the latest trailers of upcoming films. If you are among such fiction fans, then there’s some good news for you. Doctor Sleep trailer has been unveiled recently, and it is enough to give you the heebie-jeebies.  

The Shining novel series is undoubtedly among the finest and most iconic stories of Stephen King. The first film based on it; The Shining defined the term horror for many people. So, people are expecting big things from the film based on the second novel in the series, Doctor Sleep. Some people also hope that the film will have some true skip the heartbeat scenes that will be better than what they expect in the upcoming Star Wars or Gemini Man.

 

The story follows a grown-up Danny, Ewan McGregor, who is still haunted by the events that happened during his childhood. He still makes use of the Shining Power to help people feel some comfort before they die. Things get interesting when Danny comes across a courageous teenager Abra who also has an extrasensory gift, Shine.

Abra has sought Dan out and hopes to get his help against Rose the Hat, the main villain, as well as her followers, The True Knot cult. Dan and Abra ally and Dan is forced to call upon his powers like never before while facing a few ghosts of the past. The film pays a homage to The Shining as well.

 

The film is directed and written by Mike Flanagan who was reluctant to step into the shoes of Stanley Kubrick. Most people are sure that Mike has done a good job in the Sleep Doctor as they have seen his brilliance in the highly acclaimed Haunting of Hill House.  

Doctor Sleep will hit the theatres on November 8, 2019, and would probably give you the heebie-jeebies that are missing from your life. Will you catch it in the theatres first and then decide on reading the novels or read the novels before November to be sure you understand everything?
