The New Mutants Latest Trailer is Out – It’s Horror Movie

Fox reveals the long-waited X-Men movie

The New Mutants is one of the most delayed films of today’s time. From cast member changes to extensive reshoots to extensive reshoots and even the threat of being shelved, the film has seen it all. Things seem to be moving in the right direction now as a new trailer of the film was released shortly ago.

The fans have high hopes from this X-Men spinoff, especially those who were disappointed by the poor performance of Dark Phoenix. The New Mutants is expected to be an original horror thriller. It is set in an isolated hospital where a bunch of young mutants have to go through psychiatric testing. They face some strange occurrences and try to stay alive.

The New Mutants has a starry star cast. Maisie Williams is a Scottish mutant named Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy is a Russian mutant named Illyana Rasputin/Magik, Henry Zaga is Brazilian mutant named Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, Charlie Heaton is American mutant named Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Blu Hunt is a Native American mutant named Danielle Moonstar/Mirage and Alice Braga is named Cecilia Reyes, the mentor of the group.

In the 20^th Century Fox film, the new mutants will be against an entity, Demon Bear who can terrorise the mutants in the physical world as well as their dreams. The bear has some freaky powers like teleportation, super strength and corruption of souls.

Thankfully, the new mutants have powers of their own that will probably help them to fight their way out. The New Mutants trailer makes you think of a horror film more than a superhero movie like Marvel or The Avengers. The mutants will need to not only escape the hospital, fight against the bear but will also have to deal with the sins of their past.

The deal to make The New Mutants was signed about five years back. Things got delayed after Disney acquired 20^th Century Fox. Also, there were fears that Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, who is in-charge of X-Men movies, might shelve the film.

But all seems well now as the latest trailer is out and The New Mutants is expected to hit the theatres in April this year.
