WandaVision – Disney+

Marvel fans have been waiting for a show or a movie for months now. Disney+ has understood their agony and moved the release date of its upcoming series WandaVision up. Earlier, it was to be released in 2021, but now it will be releasing in 2020. It’s a smart move by Disney+ as it will help boost (and sustain) the subscribers of the video-on-demand streaming service.

As the exact date of the release of WandaVision isn’t out yet, it is unclear whether the series will premiere before or after another MCU Phase 4 show, Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Marvel has also been talking about WandaVision indirectly. It had teased that the events of WandaVision will be referenced in its 2021 release, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

For those who are unaware, the show WandaVision will revolve around the unique bond between Wanda, and Vision. Elizabeth Olsen will reprise the role of Wanda (Scarlet Witch) while Paul Bettany will reprise the role of Vision. The duo was seen together in Avengers: Endgame last.

There are several reasons why moving up the release date of WandaVision will help Disney+. First, it will keep Marvel fans happy, and they will be eager to pay for the service. Second, it will help please the subscribers who are looking forward to shows like Monsters at Work (a spinoff of Monsters Inc. series) but still want something from the Star Wars and Marvel universe.

By moving the WandaVision release date, Disney+ also wants to keep up its popularity that was quite phenomenal when the service was launched. It boasted of having 10 million subscribers within the first 24 hours of its launch. The success continued thanks to shows like The Mandalorian – a Star Wars series that enticed the viewers (probably thanks to Baby Yoda). Sadly, the first seasons of The Mandalorian and another popular series High School Musical: The Musical were recently completed. So, fans have nothing major to look forward to.

One more reason why moving the release date of WandaVision will help Disney+ is it might help get ahead of strong competitors like Netflix whose The Witcher series recently surpassed the popularity of The Mandalorian and might be as popular as the Game of Thrones.

Stay tuned for more information on WandaVision and its positioning in the MCU’s Infinity Saga arc.
