It seems that the superheroes plan to surround our lives for a very long time. The anticipation for films like Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far from Home had just reached a new high when news started coming in that there will be another superhero film trying to woo the audience soon. Yes, Dark Phoenix will hit the screens in a few months.

It seems to be one of the most important X-Men films made till now as it revolves around Jean Grey also known as Dark Phoenix. Jean is hit by a cosmic force when she was on a rescue mission in space, and it transforms her into a powerful mutant. Jean can be seen wrestling her personal demons and the new but unstable power. Jean spirals out of control, tears apart the X-men family and even threatens to destroy the planet.

Fans can expect Dark Phoenix to be quite intense as it will force the family of mutants to face and control one of their own. The film is an adaption of Dark Phoenix Saga, a comic book that was set about a decade post the events of X-Men: Apocalypse. The role of young Jean Grey will be played by Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark of GoT). Jennifer Lawrence, Nicolas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy will all reprise their roles.

Though some die hard fans fear Dark Phoenix might mark the end of the X-Men Universe, there is no clarity on the matter yet.

In the latest trailer of Dark Phoenix, you can see Jean struggling with her new abilities. One of the most impressive dialogues from the trailer was “When I lose control, bad things happen, it feels good.” The plot will revolve around X-Men wanting to save her while Magneto would want to eliminate Jean as a threat.

Only time will tell how many fans of comic books would watch Dark Phoenix because they love the plot and how many of the fans will just see it because they fear that it might mark the end of the X-Men universe that they love and admire. The film will hit the theatres on June 4, 2019.
