One of the most awaited live-action Star Wars series is all set to make way to the Disney Plus streaming service. This is not about the Star Wars Episode 9, but The Mandalorian which stars the Chilean-born Pedro Pascal, who played the role of Oberyn Martell, a Prince of Dorne in the Game of Thrones and died at the hands of “The Mountain” in GOT season 4.

After many months waiting in anticipation, the fans could now take a sigh of relief as the first footage of The Mandalorian, a Disney+ original series was released at the Star Wars celebration event.

However, it took quite a long time for the Star Wars series team to release this footage of The Mandalorian in comparison to the news of the title role, which was revealed last year in December only by Lucasfilm.

The story of the upcoming live-action Star Wars series will revolve around a lone Mandalorian gunfighter, who operates the outer reaches of the galaxy. The series will be bombarding the fans with the adventures of this gunfighter, who is from the former Imperial-controlled panel belonging to the jetpack-clad warriors.

Interestingly, The Mandalorian will be making its debut on Disney+ on the same day when the streaming service will be launched, i.e. November 12. There will be eight episodes aired in the first season and it will be the first time that the Mandalorian character will appear on the screen in a live-action movie or TV series. Previously the character only featured in the animated series of Clone Wars and Rebels.

Apart from Pascal,  two actors from the Breaking Bad series will be in The Mandalorian, Giancarlo Eposito will most likely play the main villain and Bill Burr will also be with them in that different universe.

Other characters that were evident from the footage of the Mandalorian are Gina Carano, from Deadpool, Mark Boone Junior, who played Bobby Munson on Sons of Anarchy and Carl Weathers, who will portray the role of Grief Marga in the series, who is the head of a guild of bounty hunters.

Nevertheless, nothing could be said with certainty as of now for the cast of the Mandalorian and fans are advised to wait for more information getting released from Disney+ and the showrunners end.

As far as the costing of the episodes is concerned, the fans must not expect less even if it is set to be launched on Disney Plus. According to The New York Times reports that the TV series The Mandalorian will “cost roughly $100 million for 10 episodes.”, which means $10 million per episode.

The writing and production work of The Mandalorian will be handled by none other than Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau. That said, the Disney+ Star Wars TV series will be directed by many creative directors such as Dave Filoni, who is known for his works in Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and even Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Filoni will be directing the first episode of The Mandalorian and for other episodes directors like Deborah Chow, who is popular for Jessica Jones, Rick Famuyiaw, known for his work Dope, Bryce Dallas Howard, who received accolades for Solemates, and Taika Waititi, who was the GQ’s Director of the Year 2017 and has in his bag the Thor: Ragnarok will also be getting involved.

Coming back to the story of The Mandalorian, the writer, producer, and the showrunner for the series Jon Favreau, who is popular for his work Iron Man, revealed through this Instagram post that “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

Strikingly, once revealing more about the Mandalorian to the Nerdist, Favreau stressed that the series will be set to take place seven years after the events that took place in the Return of the Jedi. This way it will be bridging the gap between the Original and Sequel Trilogies. Despite saying this, it is also important to point out that the TV series will also be including all-new characters too.
