Many of the die-hard fans of the MCU have accepted the fact that the iconic superhero film saga ended with Avengers: Endgame, and they are focusing on other jewels by MCU, such as Spider-Man: Far from Home, that will be released in a couple of days. Still, there are a few fans who refuse to let the legendary movie series fade away and are doing everything to keep it fresh in our minds.

One of such dedicated fans of Avengers: Endgame is YouTuber James Hobson aka The Hacksmith who decided to replicate the iconic block shaped hammer wielded by Thor. No, he did not barter with the enchanted dwarfs but used tungsten, an expensive metal to create a hammer that weighs around 110 pounds or 50 kgs.

He intends to gift the hammer to Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. Most people know him as The Mountain of Game of Thrones who liked killing other people without even bothering to know their names.

The original hammer was created by the writer Stan Lee and was introduced via Journey into Mystery. It was named as Mjolnir, and only people who are worthy were allowed to pick it up. Captain America did that in Avengers: Endgame and Thor used it by proving himself worthy of it.

Hobson’s journey to recreating the Avengers: Endgame hammer was not easy. During the first attempt, he created a hammer that weighed just 73 pounds. Soon after another, DIY-er created a hammer that weighed 91 pounds and beat Hobson. Hobson accepted the implied challenge and forged another hammer by using Tungsten, an expensive material that ensured that the hammer costs thousands of dollars.

The idea of using Tungsten, a rare metal that is found naturally on Earth that was identified in 1781 and isolated as a metal a few years later in 1783 for the hammer proved fruitful, and Hobson tasted success. We wonder whether he will retain the title of creating a real Avengers: Endgame hammer forever or would another YouTuber create another, better version soon? It would be interesting to see. Don’t you think?
