Keeping up to its promise, which was made over two years back in 2016, Tesla is now ready to roll out Tesla Model 3. This low-budget electric car is making way to production and will be available at a price of $US35,000 (AUD 49,300). To ensure that the car remains in the inexpensive zone, the American automotive company has made the announcement that it will shift the model for online sale.

It is expected that this affordable four-wheeler will open doors for a whole new segment of customers for Tesla. However, there is no denial of the fact that Tesla Model 3 is still an expensive car.

As per the Tesla US website, the first few specimens will be knocking on the doors of US customers in the coming two to four weeks. Back home, the price of the car will not be the same, according to the Tweets of Tesla boss Elon Musk. The final price will include the currency conversion difference in addition to import duties and sales tax. Furthermore, Tesla Australia has not made the clarity on the availability of the vehicle and it is believed that the Model 3 might land locally in July.

Specifications

Interestingly, Tesla Model 3 will carry a battery with a range of 354km offering a push of 209km/h, through 0-60 miles per hour (97km/h) run in straight 5.6 seconds. All those who want to get more range and speed can opt for Standard Range Plus version. This will be able to cover 32km, which will lower the sprint time of the car not much but at least 0.3 seconds. Nevertheless, this extra range will spurt the price by $US2000 (AUD 2816).

The standard version of the vehicle is not quite luxurious and carries basic navigation and audio technology in addition to cloth upholstery.
