Parties and Concerts are some of the best experiences one can have. The sound, the crowd, and the spectacle of it all is indeed something to behold. In events like these, you will need to sport a matching outfit depending on the kind of event you will be. Obviously, knowing what to wear for the occasion will help you reap the rewards and have a better time.

In the Club

As you know, nightclubs take their wardrobe standards very seriously nowadays and it’s not easy to walk away from a rejection from the bouncer with your pride unscathed. A blazer combo with a button down or with a crisp shirt and smart fitted chinos or dark denim is hard to beat. A white tee paired with black jeans, and a navy or khaki bomber jacket hides sweat very well and works better with the bright lights in the club. Top this off with your leather boots or sneakers and your all set. Oh by the way, never, ever wear expensive brands unless you ready for it to get wrecked in a drunken brawl. Smart casual attire that isn’t expensive is key.

The Rock / Metal Concert

When it comes to attending a rock concert, the obvious choices are leather jackets, or a dark denim jacket if you’d prefer something lighter. Underneath, you can rock a pair of jeans and a T-shirt with the name of the band you’re seeing or something with a large print up front. A white or red piece of clothing will mix it up nicely. Wearing heavy Doc Martens or lace-up sneakers will make some noise indeed. Just like rock, metal concerts have a uniform that comes with the territory. Leather, dark colours, heavy boots and some metal accessories are the must-haves in your wardrobe. Wearing darker hues, a pair of jeans (ripped is okay) and a logo or band T-shirt are a staple. If you like, you can add a leather jacket and boots to complete the look.

The Pub Gig

You can be more laid back in the pub and really go easy on what to wear. Stick to comfy clothing that you can move around freely in. Wear streetwear like a boss, such as loose-fitting T-shirts and jeans for the most comfort, and bring a jumper or cardigan to layer with. You can also sport a denim jacket, as they’re versatile and light. There’s nothing worse than holding a heavy coat all night so make sure you don’t bring too much.

The Outdoor Concert / The Music Festival

Layering is key here. Start with a T-shirt or button-down shirt under a jacket or jumper, and couple this with comfortable pants such as jeans or chinos. Don’t wear your dress shoes unless you like them muddied up, a pair of sneakers or boots will serve you well outdoors.

What to wear to a music festival? Anything goes with these types of gigs, really. If you want to stand out, go for clashing patterns, wearing colours and tropical prints. Make sure what you’re wearing matches the weather; if it’s hot, wear clothes with breathable clothes that aren’t too heavy. Don’t forget to bring a bag or fanny pack so you can keep your gear safe; headwear is ideal to stop sunburn and heat stroke. If its chilly out, a long-sleeved shirt or turtleneck works, and wear a jacket or coat on top. Beanies, caps and gloves will help you stay toasty. A pair of jeans or trousers is a perfect way to match your top.
