If you think that the spy movies like James Bond are cool, there’s some good news for you. A movie based on The Secret Service is in the works and will be released in a few months. We are talking about King’s Man, the prequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015). The movie was loosely based on The Secret Service graphic novel by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

Though Kingsman: The Secret Service got a good response, the response to the sequel, The Golden Circle was cooler in comparison despite amazing performance by Samuel L. Jackson, who was the villain. The Director of the films, Vaughn (known for Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class) would be expecting better response this time.

The trailer for King’s Man shows that the film will take place (partially, at least) during the WWI era. The synopsis indicates that the war was a result of a huge global conspiracy. To resist that, the Kingsman intelligence agency was found.

King’s Man stars Harris Dickinson (Trust) and Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter). Their characters will have a teacher-student relationship that would resemble the relationship between Harry and Eggy’s in the prior Kingsman movies. The film also includes Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man) as Grigori Rasputin. As Rasputin was killed in 1916 in real life, the film shows an era before the beginning of the first world war. (Planning to buy leather shoes like some of the characters are wearing? It’s always Oxfords, not Brogues).

King’s Man trailer has a catchy line by Fiennes’s character, which tells us a lot about the film. He says that real power is not found in running off to the war, it lies in understanding who you are truly fighting and learning how you can defeat them.

Some other stars who’ll grace King’s Man are Matthew Goode, Daniel Brühl, Gemma Arterton, Djimon Hounsou, Rhys Ifans, Tom Hollander, and Charles Dance among others. It will be released in February next year. Kingsman 3 is also in the works.

What do you think of the King’s Man official trailer? Did it motivate to add the film to the list of films you’ll see next year? Or you think it’s a bit boring.
