After the success of Bohemian Rhapsody, based on the life of Freddie Mercury, another biopic on a star singer is in the works. Baz Luhrmann is working on Elvis Presley biopic and has chosen Austin Butler for the role. To know more details, just scroll down.

The king of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis Presley who is credited with saving the life of Elton John was an iconic figure. So, the search for an actor to play the role of the superb singer was not easy. Luhrmann revealed that he wanted an actor who could not only evoke the vocal qualities and singular natural movement of the star singer but also could portray the inner vulnerability of the popular artist.

Luhrmann admitted that while searching for the right actor to play Elvis Presley, he came across a vast array of talent. He finalized Butler after conducting several screen tests and organizing music & performance workshops. After all that, Luhrmann decided that he has found someone who could perfectly embody the spirit of the world-renowned musical figure. (The signer was so charismatic, he could have given anyone lessons on how to captivate women with your natural charm).

The announcement of the decision to cast Austin Butler was made by Luhrmann via Instagram on Monday wherein he shared a simple swipe left. One image he shared was Elvis’ army photo, and the other was a photo of Butler.

After bagging the role of Elvis Presley, Butler has joined Tom Hanks in the film. The latter would play the role of Col. Tom Parker, Presley’s manager. The film will be made by Warner Bros. The script is written by Luhrmann and Craig Pearce. The story of the film will revolve around the relationship of the young singer who later changed the course of music and his veteran manager.

Most of the shoot of the biopic would be completed at the beginning of 2020 because Hanks is going to get busy with News of the World in the Fall.

Butler recently grabbed attention thanks to his role in the upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that will be released on August 15, 2019.
