Elton John Denied Toning Down Drugs & Sex in ‘Rocketman’
He opted to keep the movie more realistic.
Elton John, the famous musician and singer, loves to stay honest and straightforward. At least, this can be said in light to what the musician has recently told ‘The Guardian’. He opted not to tone down the sex and drug parts in his biopic ‘Rocketman’ as he wanted the movie to portray his real life. Elton John also said that some studios wanted the movie to get a PG-13 rating and so they were trying to pursue him for toning down those scenes. The recently premiered biopic on Elton John is an interesting musical journey which depicts the early struggling days of the music star. The movie shows how the singer came closer to success gradually and fighting his way through various turmoil of life.
The biopic ‘Rocketman’ is also being compared with Bohemian Rhapsody (a movie based on the famous band ‘Queen’) which was released last year and achieved a great success on box office. However, John’s biopic movie passed through other film studios before finally coming down to Paramount Pictures. The Walt Disney Studios and Focus Features wanted the movie to have mild scenes of drugs and scenes but the same was not accepted by John. As per the musician, Paramount Pictures has done a great job and that too as per his expectation. The production house, Paramount Pictures is also in news these days because of its upcoming movie ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’.
Rocketman is directed by Dexter Fletcher and is written by Lee Hall. The lead actor of the movie is Taron Egerton and there are several other actors including Bryce Dallas Howard, Richard Madden and even few more. As everyone knows, the movie has been aptly titled after the famous hit song of John ‘Rocketman’ that came in 1972. The movie Rocketman ( based on the life of Elton John) was premiered on May 16th, 2019 during the Cannes Film Festival. In U.K, the movie got released on 22nd May, 2019. It is also a confirmed info that Rocketman of Elton John will be released in US upcoming 31st May.
