Game of Thrones – HBO

Some of us considered Jon Snow to be the best character in the Game of Thrones series, and some of us considered him weak when he didn’t seek the Iron Throne. But, somewhere, deep down, we all had a special place on our hearts for Jon Snow’s character. The actor who played the role perfectly for eight seasons, Kit Harington, had become so attached to the wildly popular and extremely complex character that he had to check into a retreat even before the Game of Thrones finale aired. Keep reading to know all about it.

A representative of Harington has confirmed that the actor has checked into a wellness retreat for some personal issues. It is being reported that two key parts of the personal issues could be the ending of the Game of Thrones series and his problem with alcohol consumption. Though the news of Harington seeking therapy is a surprise, we are not particularly shocked as the actor demonstrated how vulnerable he was to the character Jon Snow’s fate when he cried after reading that Snow will kill Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in the show. You can see his tears during a segment in Game of Thrones The Last Watch, a documentary released recently by HBO.

Harington has talked about his character’s fate in the Game of Thrones and its impact on his life. He admitted that he started therapy and stopped talking to people after he knew Snow’s fate. He felt very unsafe. In another interview, he confessed that he felt sad after shooting the last scene as Jon Snow for the Game of Thrones. Harington also said that he loved playing the character and he was in tears from relief and grief when he shed Snow’s costume for the last time.

This is not the first time Harington has been impacted by Jon Snow’s presence in his life. In a previous interview, he confessed that he felt terrified when Snow’s character died in the Game of Thrones (the last episode of Season 5, Mother’s Mercy) because all the focus was on him and people were very eager to know what comes next.

We hope that Harington would get some relief by spending time at the retreat and would get over the Game of Thrones trauma soon.
