GRRM Revealed Intriguing Details on Game of Thrones Prequel
Game of Thrones – HBO

Ever since the last season, season 8 of Game of Thrones wrapped up, fans have been hoping for more. Though there is no hope for any Game of Thrones sequel yet, the channel is working on not one but three prequels. The first of the prequel is reportedly has a working title, Bloodmoon and might air sometime in 2021. New details of the show were recently revealed by George R.R. Martin. Read on to know them all.

The Game of Thrones prequel will have about a hundred kingdoms, and the era would be centuries before the Game of Thrones finale. The show will also star some Starks. Several direwolves, mammoths and the White Walkers (The Others in the books) will make an appearance too. There will be no Lannister’s in the show, and Castlery Rock would be occupied by the Casterly’s who will later lose the kingdom to Lann the Clever, but it’s not clear whether that story will be shown in the prequel.

Though the Game of Thrones prequel might have stars like Naomi Ackie, Naomi Watts and Denise Gough among others, GRRM says that there would be no lead actor. It will just have a large ensemble cast that may make the GoT prequel the top-rated HBO show and help beat the ratings of other popular shows like the Chernobyl series.

Currently, the working title of the Game of Thrones prequel is Bloodmoon but it can be changed to The Long Night or The Longest Night as GRRM is pondering these options. The show is made by Martin in conjunction with Director S.J, Clarke and showrunner Jane Goldman.

The story is expected to uncover the origins of the White Walkers, mysteries of the East and Starks of legend. There will be no Iron Throne to shed blood for, and the show will bring to you a Westeros 8,000 years before the Targaryen Conquest, a time when winter lasted an entire generation.

The shooting for the Game of Thrones prequel series has already begun in June 2019 in Northern Ireland, and we may get a glimpse of behind the scene images in the next few months. We’ll bring you more details whenever we know them, so keep checking this space for more!
