HBO Max Banks on DC's Green Lantern to Attract Subscribers
Green Lantern Corps – DC

The war to be the best entertainment provider is on, and HBO Max can’t afford to lag. Sometime back, Disney shared the content planned for Disney+ via Twitter, and a big chunk was of Marvel shows and movies. To compete with that, HBO Max will bank on DC characters. One important series that will steal the show is Green Lantern. Read about it and other content planned by HBO Max below.

If you loved Game of Thrones and you think that great content is over, HBO Max is gearing up to prove you wrong. The top content it’s planning to lure in the subscribers includes:

  •  A Green Lantern series that’s bound to be as popular as Batman. It is being produced by Greg Berlanti, a TV guru behind Arrow and Riverdale. The producer says that it will include space travel and would be the biggest DC show ever made.
  •  An anthology, Strange Adventures that will last one hour, is also planned. Like Green Lantern, it will also be produced by Berlanti and would explore the intersecting lives of superhumans and mortals.
  •  A half-hour comedy DC Super Hero High is also in the works that will focus on Elizabeth’s Banks search for a group of adolescent students to find the “gifted kids.” It might remind you of the fun element in Suicide Squad but won’t be as serious as the film was.

Of all these HBO Max shows, Green Lantern is what intrigues us the most as fans have been hoping to see something like this since Ryan Reynolds played the hero. No one has any idea what will be the focus of the show. The main story is expected to be of Hal Jordan, an Earthling who comes upon a magic ring and ends up being a part of an intergalactic police force that is sworn to protect the galaxy. The show might also focus on all kinds of aliens, or it might introduce one of the Green Lanterns from the comics.

No matter which story Green Lantern focuses on, it is likely the show would be super expensive and highly anticipated. It can lead to an increase in HBO Max subscribers too. As there is no news of HBO Max’s status in Australia, we have no choice but to hope for the best.
