All You Should Know About Walt Disney’s D23 Movies Panel
Disney has a very impressive movie line-up
Walt Disney has been giving heaps of awesome surprises to the fans since the D23 started. A few days back, it revealed its plans for Disney Plus and shared details of upcoming Marvel series like Loki, The Falcon, and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and The Mandalorian among others to bring smiles to the faces of the fans.
But on Saturday, Walt Disney Studios panel had a brilliant moment as it shared footage and trailers for Star Wars Episode 9. Jungle Cruise, Black Widow, Mulan, Black Widow, and more. Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington officially joined the MCU, and Black Panther 2 got a release date. Here’s a rundown for the fans who missed the panel.
Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker
The Director of the film, JJ Abrams introduced the cast including BB-8 and R2-D2. A new poster showing Rey and Kylo Ren facing a shadow resembling Emperor Palpatine was also unveiled by Walt Disney. They also featured a montage in which you can see Rey wearing a black hood and wielding a double-bladed lightsabre which made us think of Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

The Eternals
A Game of Thrones reunion was confirmed as Kit Harrington and Richard Madden will star in the movie, The Eternals, by Marvel Studios of Walt Disney. It also stars Gemma Chen as Sersi while Harrington will be Dane Whitman.
Black Widow

Footage from Black Widow was also revealed by Walt Disney. It showed Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson). She can be seen fighting with Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). Natasha says “It’s good to see you too, sis” and sometime later Yelena says “Why do you always do that thing? The pose, the fighting pose. You’re a total poser.”
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Walt Disney also shared footage of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil that showed a meeting between Maleficent and Aurora. It teased that people will learn about Maleficent’s brethren the Dark Fae, that is led by Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character.
Soul and Onward
Pixar also shared details of an upcoming film it is doing for Walt Disney. It’s called Soul and shares where souls come from and mention all the things that make you who you are. The story revolves around a music teacher who dreams of playing a big jazz club. It stars Jamie Foxx, Tia Fey, Phylicia Rashad, Daveed Diggs, and Questlove.
A glimpse of Onward starring Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, and Julia-Louis Dreyfus was also shared by Walt Disney.
Jungle Cruise
Another film, Jungle Cruise was unveiled by Walt Disney. It’s a buddy comedy starring Emily Blunt and The Rock. His and Emily’s entry during the D23 is worth watching! Both of them unveil teasers that are different and yet none of the teasers is the real one. Fans would have to wait some more for that bit.
Black Panther 2
The Director of Black Panther Ryan Coogler shared that the film will release in summer of 2022. He didn’t share more details regarding this Walt Disney project.
Raya and the Last Dragon
Another Walt Disney project, an animated film’s details were also revealed. The sneak peek is beautiful as it shows a world created by dragons who left a gift before disappearing. The gift can either save a kingdom or destroy it! The dragon Sisu is in human form in the sneak peek and needs Raya and her friends to help her.
Mulan
A clip from the live-action remake of this amazing film was also unveiled by Walt Disney. The clip shows Mulan visiting a matchmaker with her mother and disagreeing with the matchmaker after just covering a spider with a teapot. Chaos erupts, but the hero recovers all the cups but drops them when her hair falls. The family leaves and meet the cavalry that demands a son must fight for the country. He leaves for the front lines. The clip also shows martial arts and fighting which makes you realize how empowering the film is.
Cruella
Every Walt Disney fan would remember Cruella and her madness to gain 101 Dalmatians. She is back, but this time the pups aren’t there. In this live-action remake, she is younger and hasn’t met the pups. It’s set in 1970s in London. The first image looks punk rock! Emma Stone has nailed the young De Vil flawlessly in this gem by Walt Disney.
