Google Focus Mode to Help You Get Rid of App Addiction

Some people are addicted to Facebook while some can’t help but explore Tinder app mode – Music Festival. Google is trying to help people get rid of app addiction by launching a cool new feature called Focus Mode. It will help you to stay away from distracting apps and allow you to do what needs to be done, be it home chores, studies, or office work!

In an attempt to help people who own smartphones like Google Pixel phones, Focus Mode will turn the screen to grayscale to ensure it becomes less compelling and you refrain from staring at the screen and staying awake half the night! You can schedule it each night or manually turn it on. This mode can also keep you from accessing certain apps for a specified time (you decide the time). When the time’s up, the app (s) would be unpaused. Focus Mode is available for Android 10 or Android Q (previous name) beta.

The Focus Mode is located in the Digital Wellbeing app. To get started with it on a device like Samsung Galaxy Note 10, follow these steps:

  • Open the Digital wellbeing app and select Focus Mode on the dashboard.
  • Then you need to tap on the box on the right of every app that you want to disable.
  • After that, tap, Turn on now.
  • Instantly, all the paused apps will grey out.
  • If you try to open any of the paused apps, a box will pop up and say “Focus Mode is on.”
  • You can leave the app disabled or change the settings if you need to access the paused app.
  • If you want the latter, visit the Focus Mode settings and tap “Turn off now”

Using Quick Settings to turn Focus Mode on is simpler. Here’s how it’s done

  • Open the quick settings menu
  • Tap on Focus Mode, and it will pause any apps you have selected in the settings
  • If you want to make changes in the apps you have paused, go into the Digital Wellbeing app.

That’s it, now Focus Mode is on and would prevent you from picking up the phone every five minutes. It may also allow you to become an brilliant erudite one day!
