The Batman Cast Expands Again: Paul Dano to be The Riddler

The Batman cast has expanded again, and this time, the makers have apparently found The Riddler. Yes, The Riddler is back to make life hard for the new Batman, Robert Pattinson. News items regarding the new Batman film have been coming in since a short while back, and the addition of the Riddler is sure to add some spice to the upcoming film.

As most people had guessed earlier, The Batman would probably have to deal with more than one villain in the upcoming film. A few days before, it was revealed that Zoe Kravits would play the role of Catwoman and crack the whip.

 

The news of the addition of Paul Dano as The Riddler has disappointed the fans of Jonah Hill who it seems won’t be a part of The Batman anymore as he and Warner Bros. couldn’t come to an agreement.

Coming to the character of The Riddler, you last saw Jim Carrey play the role, and he was seen wearing dazzled spandex bodysuits. He was also seen screaming at Val Kilmer. In addition to Carrey, the character has also been portrayed by Conan O’Brien (Voice only) and Frank Gorshin. Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner Gordon in The Batman.

 

We think that Dano has the acting chops to pull off the complicated character and the unhinged supervillain, but what’s not clear is whether he will get some jazzy bodysuits or a gaudy cane or not. We hope he does.

 

Paul Dano will play Edward Nashton or Edward Nygma or E Nygma in the comic books. What’s special about the character is that he terrorizes Batman by using riddles that are meant to trick and catch the titular caped crusader. The actor was recently in the news as he won an Emmy nomination for his exceptional work in Escape at Dannemora. His impressive resume also includes accolades like There Will be Blood and 12 Years a Slave.

The Batman will be released in the winter of 2021. It is directed by Matt Reeves.
