The Batman Movie to Have Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman — Zoe Kravitz in Fanatastic Beasts

The new Batman movie by Warner Bros will have the role of Selina Kyle or Catwoman. This role will be played by actress Zoe Kravitz and the deal is official. The filmmakers have already found the new Batman in Robert Pattinson. It will be directed by Matt Reeves and is expected to hit the theatres in the middle of 2021. The filming is expected to start later this year or in early 2020.

In addition to Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright is also expected to play the role of Commissioner Gordon while Jonah Hill might grab a villain’s role. Kravitz joins the list of actresses who played Catwoman in the past. It includes Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry, Cameron Bicondova, Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar, and Lee Meriwether.

The character of Catwoman made her first appearance as “The Cat” in Batman #1 in the 1940s. She has bullwhip as her preferred weapon and has a complicated love-hate kind of relationship with the Dark Knight.

Kravitz joining the Batman series is a good idea as the actress has proven her skills time and again by having film credits like Mad Max Fury Road, X-Men: First Class, the Divergent franchise, the Fantastic Beasts Franchise, and The Lego Batman movie in which she had already played the character of Catwoman. Hopefully, this information would help Batman fans recognize her.

The film credits of Kravitz include Big Little Lies, Hulu’s High Fidelity, and Showtime’s Californication. The star has been performing music since the age of 16 and recently fronted the band Lolawolf. She featured in Janelle Monae’s song “Screwed” and the album Dirty Computer. She also appeared on “Anti-Social Smokers Club” on Rae Sremmurd’s third album called SR3MM. The stunner is repped by Untitled Entertainment, Paradigm and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel.
