Director Reveals that Joker Movie is a Stand-Alone Film
The movie is like a special edition Joker comic book
There are a number of superhero movies by DC that are currently underway. However, the director of the Joker movie, Todd Phillips has already told fans that Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix is not the part of a bigger DC universe. In other words, it is a stand-alone film that has no connection with any other DC film currently being produced.
Phillips said, “It’s not really connected to that [DC Movie] Universe” which clearly indicates that the film is going to be one of its own kind with no continuation. Fans should hence, consider it to be more of a character study. Furthermore, Phillips has also confirmed that the upcoming Joker movie is not connected with the upcoming Batman film that stars Robert Pattinson.
The confusion that fans have in this regard is quite understandable. This is because it has been a decade since movies such as Batman vs Superman and Justice League has made fans used to anticipating crossover events. Nevertheless, the Joker teasers and trailers have already been seen by millions of fans on the internet.
At the same time, the Joker movie is constantly enjoying massive praise before a broad debut in the theatres. Furthermore, the film has already been featured at the Venice Film Festival where it won the Golden Lion award (this award is considered to be one of the best film prizes in the cinema world). According to the director of the Film festival, the Joker movie is also likely to be nominated for the Oscars.
Moreover, all other Joker movie reviews say that same! All in all, the film has already gained a lot of success. Chances are that it may turn into one of the highest grossing films of 2019. After all, a big number of people are desperate to watch it (which includes both superhero fans and non-comic fans).
Joker movie is set to release in the theatres on the 4th October. At the same time, we have other movies also coming in that includes Birds of Prey on 7th February 2020, Batman on 25th June 2021, Wonder woman 2984 on 5th June 2020, and a reboot of the Suicide Squad on 6th August 2021.
