The Much-Awaited His Dark Materials Gets a Premiere Date

People have been looking forward to a quality show since the Game of Thrones ended. Though Chernobyl series tried to fill the void, it was so short that it left fans wanting more. To hook the fans, HBO has been building anticipation for a fresh fantasy series, His Dark Materials. The months of wait has ended as HBO and BBC both have announced the premiere dates for the show.

 

The British public broadcaster (BBC) will air His Dark Materials on Sunday, November 3 and HBO will air it on November 4 during the night slot. It will also air it internationally where it has networks and offers streaming services. HBO is really gearing up with some good shows these days as another fantasy series, Watchmen series is also planned for an October release. Two new shows will probably be a delight for the fans!

 

The series is based on His Dark Materials books by Philip Pullman that follows the life of Lyra Belacqua (played by Dafne Keen). Lyra lives in a parallel universe in which theology, science, and magic are magnificently entwined. She lives a very sheltered life which is disrupted when Mrs Coulter (Ruth Wilson) enters it, and Lyra begins a journey of discovery to London from Oxford. She meets scores of foes, allies, and friends during this incredible journey.

 

As you might have guessed, the cast of His Dark Materials includes some prominent names like Lin-Manuel Miranda, James McAvoy, Clarke Peters, Anne-Marie Duff, Ariyon Bakare, Ian Gelder, Will Keen, Lucian Msamati, Georgina Campbell, James Cosmo, Geoff Bell, Simon Manyonda and Mat Fraser. The series also has some incredible young talent like Daniel Frogson, Lewin Lloyd, and Tyler Howitt. It is produced by New Line Cinema and Bad Wolf. The Voice stars of His Dark Materials include Poirot’s David Suchet, Peaky Blinders’ Helen McCrory, and comedian Cristela Alonzo.
