Many people, including adults, admit to watching animated films as they are a good pass time, make you laugh and helps take the stress away. If you are a fan of animated films and are eagerly awaiting the release of Toy Story 4 (that will hit the theatres in a few weeks), it’s time to cheer up as another amazing animation film will be released this year. We are talking about Sonic the Hedgehog, the trailer of which was unveiled just a few hours back.

The trailer was released by Paramount Pictures, a company that helps us all with great entertainment options (think Gemini Man) and creates unusual films regularly. In the Sonic the Hedgehog trailer, Jim Carrey’s character got the most attention because his comic timing is perfect. The film also stars James Marsden and Ben Schwartz in key roles.

The film will bring the super-loved video game character to life, and it’s about time because Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has been releasing new games every year since 1991. Though the film’s trailer is amazing, the same cannot be said for the character’s appearance as Sonic the Hedgehog is given more human-like appearance thanks to its well-defined legs and arms. Sonic also seems to have a fur made of human hair which is in contrast to the solid blue colour that was seen in the games. Both these factors seemed to have irked some fans.

The story of Sonic the Hedgehog will revolve around Sonic (Ben Schwartz) being on the run from the government and seeking the help of Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), a cop. The military will hire Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey) to search for Sonic. While Jim Carrey does justice to the character of Robotnik by nailing the character of a flamboyant know-it-all who is also an evil genius, Ben Schwartz’s also makes a mark by making Sonic appear full of brash confidence his fans love him for.

All in all, Sonic the Hedgehog looks like a treat you can enjoy during the Thanksgiving season as the film hits the theatres on November 8, 2019. It might even be a worthy competitor to Terminator: Dark Fate that’s slated to release on Nov. 1, 2019, and The Rhythm Section which is slated to release on November 22, 2019.
