All You Need to Know About Grammys 2019

All the bits from the 2019 Grammys here.

61st Grammys
61st Grammys

Any fan who expected a lot of iconic pop culture moments or controversies from Grammys 2019 is going to be disappointed with this piece because we can’t report it. Nothing like that happened. Grammys 2019 was an okay-okay type of event hosted by Alicia Keys that included performances by stars like Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, and Diana Ross.

Some of the mention worthy things that happened at Grammys 2019 are:

Gambino Created History

Gambino created history by being the first hip hop song to win Best Song & Best Record at the Grammys. Ironically, this award was not won when stars like Kayne West, Drake, The Eminem or Kendrick Lamar were winning hearts. And the singer (Donald Glover) wasn’t even there to accept the award.

Drake’s Acceptance Speech was Fiery

Drake’s acceptance speech after winning the award for Best Rap Song for God’s Plan was full of fire. His speech boiled down to this: People who give the awards don’t understand the singers and audience’s acceptance matters more than the trophies. As you may have guessed, his speech was cut off abruptly.

Travis Scott Performed Well

Travis Scott gave an all-timer of the performance and added a bit of life and cheer to the evening. He seemed full of energy when on stage and some credit can be given to the kiss he shared with Kylie Jenner on the red carpet.

J. Lo Failed to Impress

Fans expected better from Jennifer Lopez when they heard that she was going to lead the Grammy tribute to Motown. Unfortunately, her performance was a slap in the face to history, especially Black Women who played a key role in many of the greatest musical contributions by Motown. Many people, even the fans of the diva agree that the performance had no class!

Cardi Talked About Weed

One of the interesting things that happened during Grammys 2019 was the sudden cut off of Cardi’s speech when she mentioned that she could use weed to battle the nerves after winning the Best Rap Album. It is assumed that the speech was cut off because it was too much for CBS’s family-friendly approach to the Grammys.
