Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt will work on another project soon. They will star in Ball and Chain, which is an adaption of the 90’s comic of the same name that was created by Scott Lobdell. The project will revolve around a superhero story where a couple struggling in their marriage will have some cool superpowers. But the superpowers will only work when they are together so they will need to unite and fight.

Though multiple studios are bidding for this high-profile project starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, Netflix is in the lead and might land it soon. An official statement regarding the same is not out yet.

In addition to acting in it, Dwayne Johnson will also produce it under his banner – Seven Bucks and with Dany and Hiram Garcia. Kevin Misher and Blunt will also be co-producers.

Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt last came together for The Jungle Cruise that was to be released on July 24 this year. However, the coronavirus pandemic has forced the makers to push the date back by a year. Now, Mulan is expected to release on July 24 this year.

Dwayne Johnson will next be seen on another Netflix film, Red Notice that also stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. He will also be seen in Black Adam, a long-delayed DC feature. Emily Blunt, on the other hand, stars in A Quiet Place II that will be released in September instead of March, again due to COVID-19 situation.

The script of Ball and Chain is by Emily V. Gordon, who people know for The Big Sick. The release schedule of the project largely depends on the easing of coronavirus restrictions and the schedules of Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, both of which are busy stars with a lot on their plates. All in all, the project is still in the initial stages, and it will take at least a few months to get going with it.
