Decade-Long Wait Ends: The Irishman Trailer is Finally Here
The most-awaited Scorsese will be aired on Netflix
Netflix is quite serious about being a top provider of great content. Some time back, we reported how Netflix is pouring in millions to create projects like the Red Notice. Now, Netflix has bowed down to the demand of Martin Scorsese to provide a full theatrical release to The Irishman. It will have a full theatrical run, and the theatres will report box office numbers. Netflix has also released the trailer of The Irishman, details of which are mentioned here.
The Irishman tells the story of Frank Sheeran (played by De Niro) who is considered to have been involved in the assassination of Jimmy Hoffa (played by Al Pacino). In the first trailer, Sheeran gets a call from Hoffa seeking his employment. It also shows us Sheeran at work as he carries out hits and works with Russell Bufalino (played by Joe Pesci). As the film is directed by a top-notch Director, it is compared with the likes of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, directed by another iconic Director Quentin Tarantino.
The Irishman stars three of the greatest mob actors of a generation, Pacino, De Niro, and Pesci. It also stars Anna Paquin, Jesse Plemons, and Ray Romano. One of the biggest attractions of the film is the digital aging of De Niro that has been making the waves for some time now. The results are pretty good and worth the decade-long wait.
The official synopsis of The Irishman says that the film chronicles, one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in the US history, the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa and provides a memorable journey through the not visible corridors of organized crime, including the inner workings, connections to mainstream politics and rivalries.
The Irishman could be the next massive hit from Netflix following the success of Roma and Bird Box that caught the attention this year. It will be released this autumn on Netflix.
