Ford GT Mk II, the Very New and Powerful Race Car Designed for the Tracks!

Its Ford’s first $1 million supercar

The annual Goodwood Festival of Speed at Goodwood, England was exciting for the speed lovers as Ford Motor Co. Introduced its very new model of the GT series, the Mark II. People have been anticipating this car for a long time now and Ford has announced that the Canadian automotive supplied of Ford, Multimatic will be making only 45 of these beauties. So, this also makes the car very rare.

 

The Goodwood Festival of Speed was filled with new launches and people also got to see the first look for the new Ferrari P80/C. Currently one of the other fast cars that has been famous is the new Aston Martin Valhalla which was revealed late in June. It is set to feature in the new James Bond movie and also falls in the much more affordable range when compared to the new Ford GT MkII.

 

The car is filled with features that are an upgrade from the standard Ford GT. The car will generate 700 horsepower and will weigh 200 pound less. However these new features means that the cost of the car has also been increased and it will set the buyer back with $1.2 million (A$1.7 million) which is more than double of the standard Ford GT.

 

Most of the safety equipments of the new Ford GT Mk II Have been stripped out to make it lighter. This will mean that the car is not street legal and can only be used on the tracks. Although Ford is yet to release the performance specs of the car, we can only imagine that the car will be faster than 216 mph and will hit over 60mph in three seconds. Other features to look out for are 19-inch forged wheels made of aluminium, Brembo breaks and a roof mounted intake designed to cool the engine.

 

This is a perfect car for the track junkies out there who can afford to buy this new beast. The new Ford 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 is also on the way to take the title of the most powerful car and we are highly anticipating it.
