Harmless Star Wars Coke Bottles Look Like Bombs, TSA Banned

Just in case your planning a trip to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Novelty Coke Product – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has the Coke bottle thermal detonators on its no-fly list. Perhaps the officials watched too many Star Wars flicks they know how lethal it can be. Hunters and military forces such as the Stormtroopers used them, Cad Bane assaulted the Senate Building with a thermal detonator and Princess Leia threatened Jabba the Hut with a thermal detonator.

The most harm it can do is to be hit by the spurt of the soda when the bottle is shaken and opened… duhhh.

As Disney is opening its doors to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Orlando, Florida, TSA is cracking down on one of its most collectible items – a $5 coke bottle with logos in Aurebesh lettering.

The bottles, which are for sale exclusively inside Star Wars lands in Anaheim and Orlando, are shaped like small orbs that resemble either a droid or a thermal detonator. They are one of the cheapest souvenirs and popular. All You Should Know About Walt Disney’s D23 Movies Panel has limited guests to three bottles per transaction to prevent hoarding. But with the TSA’s new policy, that may no longer be a problem.

Can you blame them?

The neat little jugs look like the explosive devices used in the battlefield, and with everything else the TSA has to deal with on a daily basis, it’s no wonder it’s cracking down on anything, even souvenir soda bottles. Blame the Imagineer for doing a good job on the Star Wars memento making it look like the real McCoy.

With or without a normal bottle cap this item is still considered a replica and is not allowed in carry-on or checked bags. If officers discover a replica during screening and believe it is real, the item will be treated as such until advised by law enforcement.

Imagine the hassle a Star Wars fan has to go through just to keep an imitation of a thermostat detonator and then translating from Aurebesh to English afterward.

Fret not, Star Wars tourist who visit the planet of Batuu are allowed to bring hand-built lightsabers and astromech droids back to Earth and carry these souvenirs on their flight back home.

Aficionados can travel in space once more with Disney’s Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker will hit the big screens on Dec. 20, 2019. It will be a conclusion to the Skywalker saga of nine movies.
