Netflix and Youtube in a Tesla? Elon Musk Will Make It Happen!

Elon Musk is one of the favourite technology entrepreneurs in the world because he tweets important stuff rather than boring you via dreary press conferences. Sometime back, he promoted Tesla Model 3 via a tweet, and now he has just announced that Tesla will allow YouTube and Netflix videos on the multimedia screens of some cars.

The founder of Neuralink recently tweeted that some Tesla cars will soon have the ability to stream Netflix and YouTube when the car is stopped. It is quite clear that video streaming will only be available when the car is parked, but Elon Musk also added that when (not if) full self-driving is approved by the regulations, Tesla will enable video access when you are moving too.

The owners of Model 3 and Model Y can expect their vehicles to get the best video experience in their cars as these models have horizontally oriented screens unlike Model X and Model S that have vertically oriented screens.

Though Elon Musk didn’t share the exact time when Tesla vehicle owners can expect the big change, it is speculated that for some nations, it could be as early as August. No confirmation on the timeline in Australia have been shared yet, but we’ll update you as soon as we can.

People who have to drive for long regularly and wait for a few annoying minutes to get the take away after a long tiring day might be happy with the announcement by Elon Musk, but they forget something. Self-driving is not approved by regulations, and it’s not likely that it will happen this year (as hoped by Elon Musk). Until that happens, it’s all a nice dream.

We want to watch Netflix while the car drives on its own as much as you do, but we also think that the self-driving technology regulations aren’t going to change until all safety threats are removed. The authorities are not hastening to change the regulations even though powerful people like Elon Musk want it. We just have to wait and watch!
