The Oscars is an event that celebrates the actors, films, costume designers, directors, script writers and many more talents that go into the film-making journey. The Oscars 2019 ceremony will be the biggest, and most stylish night in the Hollywood agenda. That being said, the upcoming Oscars 2019 ceremony hasn’t been without its share of controversies before the February 24 event date.

There is no host

So yes, there will be no host this Oscars 2019. Kevin Hart stepped down as host due to some shocking and disappointing circumstances that we will talk about more somewhere else, spoiler though, it isn’t Kevin’s fault. With no one else taking the helm, it’s going to be surprising how they will handle this.

But there will be a ton of presenters

Since there isn’t a host, we will be seeing a new dynamic on how the show will flow. For the Acting Categories we will see Allison Janney, Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell, and Gary Oldman. For the eight Best Picture nominees, a selection of notable celebrities who are unconnected to the films will introduce each one. These will include Chef José Andrés, Dana Carvey, Queen Latifah, John Lewis, Diego Luna, Tom Morello, Mike Myers, Trevor Noah, Amandla Stenberg, and Barbra Streisand. Aside from these presenters, there will also be additional guest presenters to spice things up.

There will be music

Like most Oscars before it, the Oscars 2019 will feature performances from four of the five nominees. and at least one extra. But due to scheduling conflicts, Kendrick Lamar and SZA won’t be performing ”All the Stars” from Black Panther. Other songs are Bette Midler performing “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from Mary Poppins Returns. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will perform “Shallow” from A Star Is Born. Jennifer Hudson will be singing “I’ll Fight” from RBG. Gillian Welch and David Rawlings dueting on “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. Adam Lambert and Queen will also perform on the broadcast presumably without Rami Malek’s vocals edited in.

A pretty set?

Renowned Academy Awards production designer David Korins shown us a sneak peek of his design for the Dolby Theatre, calling the whole thing “Crystal Cloud,” although many have noticed it looks like Donald Trump’s toupee, and i’m not kidding. There will also be about 40,000 real roses on stage, so it will smell nice at least.

Aside from these to look forward to, it is also good to know that every award will be televised. Watch the Oscars 2019 on Channel Nine, and Foxtel’s E! will be covering the red carpet live from Los Angeles. It will also be streamed live on Twitter so you can watch it by following the Academy Awards official Twitter account.
