Change is always good. As the times fly by so do trends and fads come and go. If you’re not continuing last year’s trends then you better read further. You don’t want to be in 2019, but still stuck in the 2000s as this tells others that you can’t keep up with the times, or act your age for that matter. If you like to crank up your fashion sense to improve your style this 2019, here are a few tips how.

Use more colors

Pulling off a monochrome look to improve your style is too easy, and bland. That’s not to say black and white (and the greys in-between) are redundant. It just means that you can make your personality show more with a few choice shades. Choosing the right one however, is the tricky part. A good addition would be jewel tones (which are far easier to meld with the darkness) and brighter shades too (a good overlayer to diamond whites). Whatever the choice, it’s sure to brighten up your mood.

Stop hoarding

To improve your style means you need to ditch the old stuff. Hoarding is bad, plain and simple. If you have been watching Marie Kondo lately, you will realize how great it feels to tidy up. By no means is it easy, but it’s definitely worth it. There are three things to keep in mind whether or not you need to ditch something: when do I wear it, when will I wear it, and what will it be worn with. If you can answer all three confidently, hold on to it.

Box it up

The annoyingly tight little T-shirt and crotch-choking skinny jean trend is definitely dead. Go for more square/boxy looks ( No, not the Roblox, Kanye West video type) that give more room in the shoulders and sleeves that don’t squeeze your arms too much. Perhaps a looser leg on your next pair of trousers like straight cut jeans for instance. Open up your leather shoe guide and apply the same rule to your shoes as well.

Accessorize

Accessories are not just a woman’s best friend, it can be yours too. But for men, it’s all about the finer details that take a look and change it from mediocre to memorable. A nice watch paired with a simple ring, a bracelet, even a tie pin to refresh your usual outfit would do just fine.
