Apple and Samsung are the key contenders in the race to be the topmost smartphone provider across the globe and the launch of devices like Apple iPhone 11 or Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is a proof of that. But Google is slowing making its way in the consumer’s hearts as a reliable smartphone provider. The building anticipation for Google Pixel 4 is proof of that. Let’s have a look at everything we know about Google Pixel 4 so far and speculate how amazing it could be.

The Intentional Leaks

Google, that was in the news recently for rebranding Android Q as Android 10 has intentionally leaked some information about Pixel 4 from time to time. Other websites have also made some claims regarding Pixel 4. After collating information from various sources together, we have come up with features and specs you can look forward to in the latest pixel smartphone.

Face Unlock Feature

Though iPhones have offered this feature to users for years, this is the first time Google is offering the Face Unlock feature to the customers. It has been confirmed by the tech giant that face unlock will work even if you are holding the device upside down. Users can make transactions secure and ensure app authentications by using it. None of your biometric data would be saved on Google’s remote servers which is a delight for customers who care too much about security.

Hand Gestures Matter

Google, a company focused on entertaining users via its cloud gaming service Google Stadia will use a dedicated processing chip and a radar sensor to allow Pixel 4 users to control the smartphone via hand gestures. This technology would also be extended to control smart speakers and smartwatches via hand gestures alone.

According to a post by Google, “Pixel 4 will be the first device with Soli, powering our new Motion Sense features to allow you to skip songs, snooze alarms, and silence phone calls, just by waving your hand. These capabilities are just the start, and just as Pixels get better over time, Motion Sense will evolve as well.”

It is also being speculated that you might be able to unlock the phone by reaching for it, even before you touch it in the future.

The Colours

Pixel 4 will be available in at least 3 colours, white, black, and bright orange.

Trio of Cameras

Pixel 4 will also have a three-camera setup where three different sensors and lenses will allow a user to take photos that have the best clarity, colour, light balance, and depth of field. Rumours also say that the second ultra-wide camera on Pixel 4 might be replaced with a telephoto lens. How cool is that?

Android Q

Android Q or Android 10 will also be launched, and there are considerable improvements expected with regard to camera, photo editing, Siri, UI, and connectivity.

The Main Rear Camera One is 2 MP in both the smartphones and the secondary camera is 16 MP telephoto camera. Both smartphones also have stereo speakers.

Specs Analysis

We think that 90Hz display is a worthy spec that will help Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL stand out from the crowd. The bumping up to 6 GB of RAM is also worthy of note because it will help users say goodbye to memory management problems. As battery life was a pain point in previous Pixel phones, the 3,700 and 2,800 mAh batteries might negate the need to charge the phone daily.

Release Date

The release date of Pixel 4 hasn’t been announced yet. It is highly probable that all details of the device will be released on October 15, 2019, at an event in New York City. The event might also serve as a stage for other unveils by Google such as replacements for Google Home Speaker and Google Home Mini. An update for Pixelbook laptop might also be in store.
