The world of fiction is getting better by the minute, and the building anticipation for shows like His Dark Materials is proof of it. Amazon just upped the ante by casting stars for its upcoming series, Wheel of Time.

Though the stars who will be a part of the show are usually more famous than the characters they are playing, it’s only a matter of time before that changes. After all, how many people knew Kit Harrington or Sophie Turner before Game of Thrones became so famous all over the world. The key names released via a press release are, Madeleine Madden who will play the role of Egwene Al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford who will play the role of Perrin Aybara, Zoë Robins, who will play the role of Nynaeve, Barney Harris, who will play the role of Mat Cauthon and Josha Stradowski who will play the role of Rand Al’Thor. The series lead is Rosamund Pike who will also be one of the producers of the show.

Though fans would have to wait some more before the trailer of Wheel of Time is released (would it be as exciting as The Dark Crystal trailer?), Amazon has shared a series description. The show is set in an epic and sprawling world where magic is real, and only a few women can access it. The story revolves around Moiraine, a member of an extremely powerful all-female organization known as Aes Sedai as she comes to the small town of Two Rivers. There, she starts a dangerous journey that spans all over the world with five young women and men.

One of Moraines’ five-member party is prophesized to be the Dragon Reborn who can either destroy or save humanity. The show is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios, so you can expect something amazing.

The release date of Wheel of Time hasn’t been revealed yet, but we are sure it will be announced soon. We’ll keep you posted.
