Star Wars is one of the most fascinating fictional worlds created by humans. Most fans can’t get enough of it. If the news about Star Wars Episode IX doesn’t seem much exciting now, we have some other news that will excite you. Ewan McGregor, or as the Star Wars fans know him, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be making a comeback in the Star Wars universe and reprising his role.

McGregor will be seen in a Disney+ series that revolves around the Master Jedi. He is the second actor to don the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The first one was Alec Guiness. McGregor stepped into the role in 1999 for The Phantom Menace and then reprised it in 2002 and 2005 for Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

Unlike Star Wars Princess Carrie Fisher, who couldn’t continue her role Star Wars films due to her death, McGregor has the golden opportunity to re-enter the Star Wars Universe. The fans of the actor are delighted by the news of his return.

McGregor is quite happy with the turn of events as he stated in 2015 that he would love to play the iconic character. There are no details on what the plot of the story would be. There are also rumours that an Obi-Wan spin-off film might happen soon. But nothing has been confirmed yet.

The Star Wars series starring McGregor would be the third series headed to Disney+ after The Mandalorian, starring Pedro Pascal in the title role, and the unnamed Cassian Andor series, in which Diego Luna will reprise his Rogue One role as a Rebel spy. This means that if you are a Star Wars fan, you need to get a Disney+ subscription.

Many fans are unaware that this is not the first comeback of McGregor in the Star Wars Universe. He had already made a voice-only cameo comeback when he lent his voice as Obi-Wan in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens that released in 2015.
